Morgan County Schools to implement weapons detection systems at high schools
MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) - Morgan County Schools officials have announced the installation of new weapons detection systems at the district’s five high schools as part of its continued commitment to student and staff safety.
The district has partnered with Xtract One Technologies to install advanced weapons detection systems at designated campus entry points. The technology is designed to enhance campus safety while maintaining a smooth and efficient entry process for students.
District leaders emphasize that this decision is a proactive safety measure and not in response to any specific threat. Instead, it reflects the commitment of Superintendent Mrs. Turrentine and the Morgan County Board of Education to strengthen existing safety protocols and maintain a secure learning environment.
