MADISON, Ala. (WAFF) - A Madison wrestling coach is organizing a tournament to raise money for Children’s of Alabama, a cause he and his wife say is personal.

Tru Vision Wrestling’s tournament is set for July 11 at 9 a.m. at One Tribe Combat Training Collective on Hughes Road. The event will include wrestling, food trucks, and giveaways. Both adult and high school divisions are available, and registration remains open.

Proceeds will benefit Children’s of Alabama. Organizers Juwan and Destiny Williams said their daughter received care at the hospital.

“She wasn’t expected to survive to a year, but we’re here,” Destiny Williams said. “Ten years old, so it’s amazing.”

Juwan Williams said the tournament is a way to give back to others who rely on the same care their family received.

“As long as we can be a portion to kind of help others the same way they helped our daughter, then I feel like that will do our little part,” he said.
