HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - A man in a high-profile triple murder case out of Marshall County was denied in his request for a rehearing.

According to court documents, the ruling issued on Friday effectively upholds Jimmy O’Neal Spencer’s conviction and sentence.

Spencer filed an application for rehearing after a previous appeal was denied.

He was convicted for the 2018 murders of Marie Martin, her 7-year-old great-grandson Colton Lee, and neighbor Martha Reliford.

The case drew widespread attention due to Spencer’s violent criminal history and the fact that he was released from prison just weeks before the killings.
