Jury finds Lisa Perry guilty of capital murder

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - A Madison County jury has found Lisa Perry guilty of capital murder in the 2012 beating death of her uncle, William Floyd Ivy.
After announcing the verdict, Perry was immediately sentenced to life in prison without parole.
During the trial, jurors watched hours of surveillance video. The prosecution also had an investigator explain the recordings that showed Lisa Perry's vehicle near her uncle's residence shortly before his death.

Madison County District Attorney Jay Town believes the jury's final verdict in Perry's case is an appropriate one.
"We are extremely pleased with the verdict. This jury was as copious as they were unfooled," says Town. "We had over 200 State Exhibits, hours of recorded interviews and jail calls and two expert witnesses. Testimony last all last week and we closed [Monday]. Jury deliberated for about an hour. She was sentenced to life without parole immediately and escorted back to jail."
Perry killed William Floyd Ivy in December 2012. His body was found in an apartment on Bob Wallace Avenue.
Prosecutors did not seek the death penalty.
