Man killed in Meridianville 18-wheeler crash identified
MERIDIANVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - A man is dead, and a woman is in critical condition after a fatal wreck in Meridianville Tuesday night.
According to HEMSI Spokesperson Don Webster, an 18-wheeler carrying cars was heading southbound on Highway 431/231 near Meridianville Middle School when the truck t-boned an SUV that was turning left.
The male driver was killed in the collision, and the female passenger was critically injured.
Alabama Law Enforcement Agency officials identified the man killed as 54-year-old Tracy W. Gamble.
Authorities said after the 18-wheeler struck Gamble’s vehicle, he was transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment, where he later died from his injuries.
The passenger in Gamble’s car, identified as 50-year-old Robin R. Gamble, and the 18-wheeler driver were both injured and transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.
Webster said the call came in at 6:20 p.m.

The crash occurred on U.S. 231 near Dayton-Freeman Boulevard, approximately one mile north of Meridianville, in Madison County.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the crash.
