Former foster parent convicted on sex abuse charges by Madison County jury

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - A former foster parent and former minister was convicted by a Madison County jury on Thursday.

Patrick Streeter was on trial after being arrested on six sex-abuse-related charges in 2023.

Streeter was charged with:

  • Three Counts of Sodomy - 1st Degree
  • Two counts of a Foster parent engaging in a sex act with a foster child
  • Sexual Torture

On Thursday, Streeter was convicted on all charges.

According to a court document filed in 2024, Streeter committed numerous acts of abuse over the three years the foster child lived with him between 2018 and 2021.

Streeter was also a former minister at the Weatherly Heights Baptist Church. At the time of his arrest, he did not work there. There has been no evidence presented that any of his crimes were committed at the church or with church attendees.

Over a year after he was arrested in Madison County and released on a $190,000 bond, Streeter was arrested on similar charges in Baldwin County.

Streeter’s sentencing has been deferred until June 26, 2025, at 11 a.m. he has been ordered to remain in the Madison County Jail until then.
