Limestone Correctional Facility security guard arrested for promoting prison contraband

HARVEST, Ala. (WAFF) - A Limestone Correctional Facility security guard was arrested for promoting prison contraband on Wednesday.

According to the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC), agents and K-9 officers responded to the facility to arrest Correctional Security Guard Monica Blakeney.

Officials said Blakeney was transported to the Limestone County Jail.

According to court documents obtained by WAFF, the drug was methamphetamines. She bonded out on July 31 on a $5,000 bond.

She was charged with Promoting Prison Contraband 2nd. Blakeney has since resigned from her position with the ADOC.
