Man wanted for questioning in UNA campus abduction

FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) - University of North Alabama police are searching for a man following an incident early Monday morning.
UNA police responded to a call of a victim being forced into her own vehicle against her will.
"We have not had an incident of this nature from what I understand its almost never happens here," said UNA Police Chief Kevin Gillilan.
UNA police said a woman visiting UNA and a student were walking along Hawthorne street until Taylor Peters and another man forced the visitor into the back of her own car with a baseball bat leaving the student to worry what happened to her friend.
The student told police that she was still texting with the victim.
Police could not locate the vehicle on campus and issued a "Be On the Look Out" for the vehicle to surrounding agencies.
Around 3:11 a.m., Florence police stopped a vehicle matching the description of the reported car.
The victim was recovered and Taylor Peters was taken into custody by UNA police and transported to the Lauderdale County Detention Center. She is being charged with unlawful imprisonment, unauthorized use of a car and harassment. Gillilan believes this is an isolated situation involving two women who had a prior relationship.
The man apparently exited the vehicle at the time of the offense and left the scene in an older model white Buick.
Police are still investigating to find out how Peters and the man obtained the victim's car. Although the majority of the incident took place off campus some students wished they would have known about the incident much earlier. An email was sent out to the UNA community at noon.
Anyone with additional information is asked to contact UNA police.
