HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

How much do you depend on your cell phone?

How lost would you be if it was stolen?

Here's your chance to send a thief from cell to cell: From a stolen cell phone to a jail cell.

Get ready to dial the numbers 256-53-CRIME (27463) on your own cell phone in this week's Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers.

Our thief is seen very clearly on surveillance camera leaving the Kroger on Drake Avenue Dec. 23 to make a phone call.

But police say the call he was planning to make was with a stolen cell phone. They say an employee here left his phone near the register and stepped out for a minute or two. That's when it was stolen.

And in cell phone terms, this is as good as any "selfie" you'll ever see.

It's time to pick up your own cell phone and let authorities know who this thief is. It could a very profitable game of "dialing for dollars."

There's up to a $1,000 riding on your anonymous tips. Make the call to 256-53-CRIME.
