HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Gas prices continue to fall across the Tennessee Valley.

A regular gallon of gas costs below $2 at several gas station in north Alabama. One of those locations is the Kroger at Highway 72 and Jeff Road. The Mapco across the street also has gas for $1.99.

Driver Dan Smith of Athens says this means a little extra money in his pocket.

"Oh I love it," he said. "In today's times, this is what the people truly wanted and truly need. You know, with prices in the world going up today, with gas the way it was, prices nearly double, that doubled another bill."
