MADISON COUNTY (WAFF) -

The Waffle House at 3995 University Drive in Huntsville scored an 83 with the Madison County Health Department.

The inspector reported one critical violation for food temperature problems. The inspector reports discovering eggs sitting above the griddle at 70 degrees and chopped ham stored at 51 degrees. Both were above the 41 degree maximum temperature required to prevent bacterial growth in cold-holding foods.

Sierra's Mexican Restaurant (Sierra's Mexicanisimo) in Arab is one of several previous low performers that earned their way off of the health department's reinspection schedule. The restaurant scored a 67 before, but made a big improvement during a recent reinspection, scoring a 91.

The El Camino Real in Albertville made it off of the reinspection schedule during their second opportunity. The restaurant had scored an 82 and an 84 during their previous two inspections, but rose to an 88 in their recent reinspection.

The Sicilian Italian Restaurant in Arab shot up 10 points, earning a 91 with the Marshall County Health Department.

Also in Arab, Milner's Dairy Delight rose from a 77 to a 91 during their reinspection.
