MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - A man already behind bars for stealing from a church is now accused of stealing from a different church.

Phillip Story pleaded guilty in February to 12 counts of theft. He stole money from members of Plainview Church of Christ in Hazel Green.

Story is now accused of stealing from the Toney Holiness church. Some of the church's musical instruments went missing and later turned up at a local guitar shop.

Investigators were able to trace the instruments back to story. They claim Story pawned the stolen equipment.

Phillip Story pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property in this new case. The prosecution dropped the burglary charge for the stolen instruments due to lack of evidence.
