Florence Police identify deceased man found near Wallace Street

FLORENCE, Ala. (WAFF) - The Florence Police Department investigated a death in the 300 block of Wallace Street.

Investigators say the call came in at 6:50 a.m. for an unconscious male found in a church parking lot on Wallace Street.

The man is identified as Ronald Lumbus, 60, of Florence, Alabama.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on this incident to contact Detective Jackson at 256-760-6557 or submit a tip through the Florence Police Department’s App.

The Lauderdale County District Attorney has arrived on the scene.

Information is still very limited at this time.

Residents in the area were shocked.

The investigation took around nine hours before officers packed up and opened the street back up.
