HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Congressional recognition was given for some special graduates Wednesday.
Representative Mo Brooks hosted a reception honoring eight appointees to the service academies.
They are among 13 exceptional students from across North Alabama who will be joining the 2015 freshman classes at the military academies.
"For the Tennessee Valley, 13 graduates who are willing to go to service academies, it is truly a remarkable accomplishment," Brooks said.
Students from North Alabama make up more than a third of all the Alabama students accepted to service academies this year.
