Decatur man arrested in connection to narcotics operation after fleeing in car
DECATUR, Ala. (WAFF) - A Decatur man was arrested Monday evening in connection to an alleged narcotics operation.
According to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, the sheriff’s drug enforcement unit conducted a narcotics investigation in Decatur on Highway 31 and Beltline Road. During the investigation, a suspect, Tristan Hunter Couch, 32, of Decatur, was found as he ended up fleeing from agents in his car.
Officials said Couch ran a red light and an 18-wheeler as it entered the intersection at Beltline Road and 6th Avenue.
Decatur Fire and Rescue and Decatur Morgan Hospital EMS assisted at the scene.
Officials said Couch was transported to Decatur-Morgan Hospital for minor injuries.
Couch was found to be in possession of Cocaine, Fentanyl, Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.
After being released from the hospital, Couch was booked into the Morgan County Jail.
He was charged with the following:
- Dangerous Drugs Drug Trafficking-Cocaine
- Dangerous Drugs-Drug Trafficking-Fentanyl
- Unlawful Possession Drug Paraphernalia
- Dangerous Drugs-POM 1
- Attempting to Elude a Police Officer (Felony).
His bond is set at $23,800.
