A non-profit organization created by Madison County Commissioner Bob Harrison is being audited by Huntsville schools.

WAFF 48 Investigator Georgi Bragg has been looking into this information about Harrison for 2 years.

We first got copies of this ethics complaint against Bob Harrison in 2006.

It was dropped, but the complaints in it are similar to new information that's prompted an audit involving the commissioner's non-profit organization by Huntsville's City Council and the city's board of education.

Exclusive details in WAFF 48 Investigators Report.

Residents who live in Madison County's district six are used to seeing this newspaper sent out periodically by their county commissioner, Bob Harrison.

Among those accomplishments featured in this issue of "community service" is Harrison's own Northwest Community Learning Center, a non-profit organization he started nearly 2 decades ago.

The article describes Northwest as a center that provides services for youth in  kindergarten through fifth grades.

But there's an issue that has some Huntsville city leaders concerned.

The WAFF 48 investigators first uncovered these financial documents that describe grants awarded to Northwest by local agencies.

Included are Madison County, the city of Huntsville, and Huntsville city schools.

Superintendent Dr. Ann Roy Moore says the reason for an audit boils down to money.

More specifically there are questions about how grant funds are used.

"We are going to conduct an audit based on our records and the records that we've received from Northwest," said Dr. Moore.

Harrison is in Washington D.C., but in a phone interview he denies any wrongdoing, "We have no problems with an audit.   It's for $60,000 approximately that have been paid through our organization directly to Madison County."

At ten we'll have more details from those documents, things you were never meant to see.
