HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - The Village of Providence will be hosting its next free "Movies in the Park" event Friday night.

The event will start at 6 p.m. and the movie will start after sunset.

This month's movie is E.T - The Extra-Terrestrial.

No outside food or drinks are allowed at the free events, but many of the Village restaurants either have tents or offer delivery to the park during the events.

"These events continue to grow in popularity and we're thrilled to be showing such a great family classic this week," said David Slyman, one of the Village Providence Town Founders. "Our local Village businesses help make these free events possible and we want to encourage everyone to support them."

Sponsors of the event include Brickhouse Sports Cafe, Charrito's, Grille 29 and many more.

David: Showers and storms ongoing across the Valley

    Saturday, March 25 2017 5:50 PM EDT2017-03-25 21:50:37 GMT

Showers and storms will be ongoing across the Valley this evening. The most widespread rain will be over northeastern AL, but additional scattered storms will track into the Shoals from the west. That round of stormy weather will head east with time and should be out of the Valley after midnight. The threat for severe storms is low, but a few strong storms are possible.
