Man stabbed in chest with pocket knife

LAWRENCE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

A Lawrence County man was arrested after authorities said he stabbed his friend in the chest with a pocket knife.

According to witnesses, Jaymy Lynn Parrick and the victim were drinking at a home on County Road 441 in Hillsboro when they got into an argument. Witnesses told authorities Parrick went to his vehicle where he armed himself with a pocket knife and then stabbed the victim in the chest.

The victim was transported to Decatur General Hospital then later airlifted in critical condition to Huntsville Hospital. He was last reported to be in stable condition, according to the sheriff's office.

Parrick was charged with first-degree assault and transferred to the Lawrence County Jail. Bond has yet to be set.

Despite a sentence of 40 years to life, the Arizona Board of Executive Clemency voted to release him from prison into home arrest. Family members of the victims are concerned for the safety of the community, as are new members of the Clemency Board. CBS 5 Investigates videotaped Huff riding a bike through his Tucson neighborhood. There are no restrictions placed on his proximity to children.
