HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The Alabama A&M students have finally made it home.

The Forestry Club of Alabama A&M were stranded in Childersburg for two days due to the arctic blast. The nine members of the club said they were thankful to be home.

"We're very fortunate," Dr. Kozma Naka said. "I was listening to the radio during the night and I was very fortunate I was in that space there and sleeping on that cot."

The group was traveling back from an event in Panama City Beach when they got caught in Childersburg, taking shelter at the Childersburg Community Center.
