Illnesses continue to affect local children

Children are still testing positive for multiple illnesses. Children are still testing positive for multiple illnesses.

Dozens of children are coming down with flu-like symptoms in the Tennessee Valley, and dozens more are testing positive for it, according to lab results at Huntsville Pediatric Associates.

Flu and RSV are neck and neck among the little ones, and it looks like 23 is a popular number.

Last week, doctors said 129 children had flu-like symptoms. 23 of those tested came back positive.63 were tested for RSV, and again, 23 came back positive there as well.

Here's something we haven't mentioned in a while: Doctors said there still seems to be a lot of norovirus, also known as the stomach bug, going around.

Hand-foot-mouth disease also made an appearance with a handful of children showing symptoms.

Doctors said remember to keep the hand sanitizer handy and don't forget the soap and water.
