Neighbors speak out on the victims killed in Decatur shooting

Family and friends rushed to the scene early Wednesday morning after two bodies were found inside a Decatur restaurant.

Police dusted the crime scene for fingerprints after a double murder at a Krystal restaurant on 6th avenue. 50-year-old Jeffery Graff of Huntsville and 23-year-old Jesse Jose Aguilar of Decatur both suffered fatal gun shot wounds.

Neighbors were shocked and in disbelief that something like this happened.

"The police came over here this morning looking for his mother. That's when we found out," said David Smith, neighbor.

Smith lives next door to the Aguilar family. He said he met Jesse Aguilar a few years ago.

"He worked where I work part time at General Electric for awhile and seemed like a good fellow," he said.

Smith said the victim became a father less than a year ago. Smith didn't get a chance to talk to Aguilar's family, but he said the news is devastating to the entire block.

Family and friends in the Hermitage Hills area in Huntsville are also in mourning. Jeffery Graff lived in the neighborhood with his wife.

Neighbors said the couple always lent a helping hand and lived in the subdivision for several years. One neighbor left a card for the victim's wife this morning. Graff's wife stated she didn't want to talk on camera, but she said the entire block is devastated about the murders.

A prayer vigil will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church on Highway 72 in Madison. Jeff Graff was a member of their church.
