A fundraiser for a worthy cause brought a national champion to the Rocket City Thursday Night.
This was the scene at the Davidson Center at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville.
Hundreds turned out to raise money for Rainbow Omega.
And the guest speaker was none other than coach Gene Stallings.
Coach Stallings had a son with down's syndrome.
John Mark Stallings passed away recently.
So the coach is no stranger to Rainbow Omega's mission.
The Former Alabama Football Coach said, "The Rainbow Omega people came to my office about 14 years ago with just, they just said we've got a dream. And they've done you just can't believe how much they've done for the community of the retarded adult."
Rainbow Omega runs a medical facility and 8 group homes throughout Alabama.
