Alabama's newest law, dubbed the Brody Bill, will make it a crime to kill or harm an unborn baby.

Gov. Bob Riley signed the bill this morning.

Roger and Pam Parker are the Valley couple who lobbied for this bill.

The law is named for their daughter Brandy's unborn son, who she had named Brody.

Brandy was eight months pregnant when she was murdered last summer in Albertville.

WAFF 48 News Reporter Rachel Hardman attended this morning's signing ceremony.

She'll have live reports tonight on WAFF 48 News at five and six.
