The victim's son found her body Wednesday night.
Demario Hardy came home Wednesday night after a frantic phone call from his sister.
Although both live a few doors down South Plymouth Road neither heard the news until morning. Still longtime friends Roy Garner and Hezzy Rice have similar reactions
"It's kind of sad," says Garner.
"That's terrible for something like that to happen right here that is terrible," adds Rice.
Martha's son Demario found his mom's lifeless body rolled in a bedsheet and stuffed inside a closet.
Within hours, pleading for help, he named a suspect. "Do you see this family. We need some information. We need to really find...Michael Jolly, Michael Jolly," He pled to our camera Wednesday night.
37-year-old Leon Michael Jolly is Martha's boyfriend.
Nearly 15 hours later investigators charged him with murder.
According to neighbors, Martha and Michael lived together in the house on South Plymouth Road for less than six months.
Martha always waving and smiling.
Michael was always out the door by 7:30 in the morning.
Police have yet to say exactly how Martha Ann Hardy died. Sources say she wasn't shot or stabbed.
