Another inmate facing charges after social media posting while in Marshall County Jail

MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Continued problems inside the Marshall County Jail.

Cellphones and other contraband are still being found inside almost a month after a shakedown there that led to a prisoner a riot.

It was back in July a riot broke out in the Marshall County Jail that sent law enforcement agencies to the jail to help get things back in order.

Shortly after, cellphones and other contraband were found and that led to several jailers being arrested.

On Wednesday, sheriff's officials confirm another cellphone was found in Wesley Wright's cell after a shakedown that morning.

Dated Monday evening, the night before five inmates escaped and were later captured, Wright posted on someone's Facebook page saying he was going to surprise them and told them they were welcome at his house anytime they want.

That person responded by asking, "How can you message me when you are in jail?"

Wright is now being charged with promoting prison contraband.

Sheriff's officials say an investigation is underway to find out just how Wright was about to get the device into the jail.

They're asking for the public's help.

If you see something posted on social media from someone you believe to be in the jail you should contact the sheriff's office.
