Madison police offering anonymous tip lines for students, parents

MADISON, AL (WAFF) - With students returning to school, police in Madison want to let you know how you can take steps to protect yourself and your children.

The Madison Police Department is offering two different ways you and your children can anonymously leave tips.

"TEXT-TO-PROTECT" allows you to send a text, email, or voicemail to confidentially reports tips. You can text or leave a voicemail at 256-604-2345. You can also email texttoprotect@madisonal.gov.

For Madison County Schools, there is a "SAFE-2-TELL" option to relay information to your school's resource officer. You can text or call 256-536-8355. You can also email 256TELL@madisoncountyal.gov. This option is open for students to report bullying, threats,  drugs, weapons, or anything that makes you feel unsafe.

Police ask that you store these numbers in both you and your students' phones.
