Rain, cold front expected later in the week
(WAFF) - Partly cloudy skies will gradually clear overnight with warm and muggy conditions expected by Monday morning's commute. Lows will be in the low to middle 70s.
The work and school week will start off mostly dry and hot, the heat index on Monday and Tuesday will be as high as 103° at times.
Isolated showers and storms are possible both days during the afternoon hours. A cold front will move through the Tennessee Valley on Wednesday bringing good chances of rain showers and thunderstorms.
Temperatures will be cooler behind the front with highs in the middle to upper 80s for the rest of the week, rain and storms will be scattered in nature for Thursday and Friday.
Temperatures will rise back into the 90s by early next week.
