MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - A man was shot and killed outside his home near Huntsville's Providence area Thursday morning.

Investigators say the victim was shot multiple times in his driveway on Turtlehill Drive around 9:30 a.m.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as 36-year-old Cedrick Lipscomb.

Deputies are searching for 34-year-old Jumar Sims, who has been named as a person of interest. He is a black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 220 pounds. He may be driving a gray 2013 Nissan Altima with tag number 61CF407.

Investigators said said this was a targeted attack and the public should not be alarmed.

Deputies said this is a safe neighborhood and they hadn't been called out there before.
