Woman arrested after Dollar General robbery call
MOULTON, AL (WAFF) - A woman was arrested after police responded to a report of a robbery in Moulton.
The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office says that on July 23, they received a call from the Langtown Dollar General on Highway 33, saying that they had been robbed.
Authorities say that the manager, 44-year-old Kimber Foster, told deputies that she was taking the morning deposit to the bank at 11:28 a.m. and as she walked out the store and got to her car, a man wearing a hoodie and black pants came up behind her and stole the money bag from her before running away.
Authorities arrived shortly after and began searching the area, but were reportedly unable to locate the suspect.
Lawrence County Sheriff Gene Mitchell said that investigators found inconsistencies with Foster's account of the incident.
After contacting the Dollar General District Manager, investigators obtained warrants for Foster and arrested her at the store.
Foster was charged with theft of property in the second degree and false reporting with of an incident. She has since been bonded out of the Lawrence County jail.
The sheriff's office says this situation is still under investigation.
