(WAFF) - Numerous to widespread rain showers and thunderstorms will continue through Tuesday evening with most of this activity being east of Interstate 65 and into NE Alabama.
Locally heavy rainfall is possible with these storms along with some marginally gusty winds. The "Bermuda High" spinning in the Atlantic Ocean will keep the rain and storm threat in the Tennessee Valley for Wednesday and Thursday with additional showers and storms expected both days.
There will likely be a very sharp cutoff in rainfall amounts through the Valley.
Slightly drier skies arrive by the weekend with just isolated chances for rain and storms Saturday and Sunday.
Temperatures will warm next week as we will be seasonably warm again in the lower 90s.
