This is the same Taco Bell where less than a week before another employee allegedly shot and killed a co-worker.
Taco Bell released the following statement:
The safety of our employees and customers is our highest priority. As soon as the franchisee learned an employee might be carrying a firearm at the restaurant, they immediately alerted the police who questioned and searched the employee ultimately finding a weapon, which is a clear violation of its safety and security policy. The employee was terminated and arrested at that time, and had a no trespassing order filed against him. The franchisee has retained security guards who have been on-site since Monday, July 16th at this location. Restaurant employees are being re-trained on all HR and security policies including the Open Door Policy, which defines the multiple options available to report any questions or concerns without fear of reprisal.
According to their policy, they have a zero-tolerance policy of no firearms allowed in the workplace. This makes the second violation of this policy within a month.
WAFF 48 has asked if the manager who oversees the store has been fired. As of Monday, he was still working as a manager.
