(WAFF) - West Morgan-East Lawrence Water Authority has settled its claims against Daikin for $4 million.

The Authority claimed that Daikin allowed dangerous chemicals to get into local drinking water.

Our news partners at the Decatur Daily tell us this settlement only resolves the authority's claims against Daikin, and has no impact on any claims its customers may have against the companies.

Daikin agreed to pay $5 million to cover the costs of an advanced water filtration system.

But it was later denied by the federal appeals court.
