ATLANTA, GA (WAFF) - After a 4-8 season last year, the Tennessee Vols are optimistic for their new head coach and familiar face in the SEC, Jeremy Pruitt.

Joining coach Pruitt today was junior wide receiver Marquez Callaway, senior defensive end Kyle Phillips, and redshirt sophomore Eli Wolf. All three of the Tennessee football players stood behind their new coach eager for new leadership on the football field.

Coach Pruitt stated that he "wanted to start the year off on a clean slate, put the past behind them, and build a championship team. Each year is a new opportunity to start over."

The football team has seemed to buy in to his new coaching style as Pruitt mentioned that the transition has been smooth and spring practice was a success.

Tennessee will open their 2018 season on September 1st against West Virginia in Charlotte.
