ATHENS, AL (WAFF) - If your kid is supposed to go to the new Athens High School this fall, the superintendent says you have nothing to worry about because the school system has a plan if the new building is delayed.

Due to unforeseen circumstances like rain days and extreme cold weather, Athens City Schools may not be on track for the new high school.

If there's a delay, the students will go to the old middle school until the school is ready.

Even with the possible setback, the superintendent says the new school will allow for more growth.

The school system will know by August 10th if it will hit the deadline.
