Riot at Marshall County Jail under control

MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Authorities say a riot at the Marshall County Jail is now under control.
A disturbance was reported Wednesday afternoon. The Marshall County Sheriff's Office reports that a group of inmates physically engaged deputies and jail staff during a shakedown Tuesday morning and became more aggressive during the conflict.
Authorities said that neither officers nor inmates were injured during the conflict and that they are currently in the process of searching and securing the prisoners back to their cells.
Multiple units from every major city in Marshall County - Albertville, Guntersville, Arab, and Boaz - were called to the scene.
Guntersville Fire also responded to address any medical concerns.
