PRICEVILLE, AL (WAFF) - A Priceville police officer "executed" a 15-year-old last year by shooting him eight times after a high-speed chase, according to a lawsuit filed this month by the boy's family.

Bryan Smith, a patrolman with the Priceville Police Department, is the sole defendant in the federal lawsuit filed by the estate of Gabriel Sage Barnes.

The complaint, which contradicts official accounts of what happened, alleges Smith successfully stopped the vehicle driven by Barnes at the Bob Wallace Avenue exit off Interstate 565 in Huntsville.
