(WAFF) - Disabled veterans in Alabama are now able to apply for a trip to the Grand Canyon.

Raytheon Company is funding the 2018 No Barriers Warriors Grand Canyon Veteran Wilderness Expedition and disabled veterans of all branches and areas are able to apply.

No Barriers USA, a non-profit organization, will lead a team of 14 disabled veterans on a nine-day expedition in the Grand Canyon in October.

Veterans need to apply for the expedition by July 15 and can click here to do so. Once they are selected, they will train for the expedition.

Raytheon says that participants will pay nothing for the trip.

Trips in the past took teams to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado and Wind River Range in Wyoming.

Applications for the 2018 trip are also available to disabled veterans in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
