HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Another tech company is moving to the Rocket City.

BWX Technologies is a leading supplier of nuclear components and fuel to the U.S. government. Depending on funding, it could bring up to 150 new jobs to Huntsville. These are mostly for engineers.

The company is bringing completely new technology to the defense market that applies to space and missile defense. They build and create nuclear propulsion systems.

BWX Technologies manufactures components in U.S. Navy submarine and aircraft carriers that have safely steamed more than 160 million miles.

They chose Huntsville to build another facility because of the very skilled labor pool to choose from and the customers interested in technology like NASA and the missile defense agency.

They're moving into a building in Cummings Research Park.

They plan on creating new businesses and programs that didn't exist before.

"We are not the typical aerospace and defense firm. We have nuclear technology that is new to this market and so if NASA is interested in a nuclear thermal propulsion system, which they are, we can provide that if the missile defense agencies and nuclear power for a weapon of some type for missile defense. We can provide that," said BWX Technologies president and CEO Rex Geveden.

They have nine major manufacturing facilities.

People have already moved in there and are working.
