HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Huntsville police are investigating a triple murder.

Three people were found dead in the 4000 block of Knollbrook Drive Tuesday afternoon. Police have not yet said how they were killed but confirm it is a homicide investigation.

Investigators have not yet released any suspect information, but authorities have confirmed that an agency has a person of interest in custody on unrelated charges, but they believe that person is connected to this incident.

Police said they received a call to the residence just before 3 p.m. Officers said they knew they would find two deceased people in the home but found a third after arriving on the scene.

All three victims were females. A relative confirmed one of them is 16 years old.

Police estimate the bodies may have been in the home for about 12 hours. Someone came by the house and discovered them Tuesday afternoon.

Police said it was not drug-related, and the victims were targeted. Police believe this was an isolated, domestic incident.
