Madison police stress safety in city's parks

MADISON, AL (WAFF) - Police in Madison are hoping to get the word out about safety in the city's parks.

Chief of Police Dave Jernigan says that the city's Public Works Department has been working to put up warning signs for users of Madison's Parks and Greenways, letting them know to keep watch over their valuables and report suspicious activities.

Warning signs will be placed at the following locations:

  • Trail head parking lots on the Greenway at Palmer Park and Heritage Elementary School
  • Dog Park parking lot at Balch Road
  • Parking lots of Palmer Park
  • Parking lots at Dublin Park
    • Parks and recreation lot
    • Soccer fields four and five gravel lot
    • Kids Kingdom upper parking lot

Madison Police urge people to speak up if they witness crime.
