One dead after loud music dispute leads to shooting

ROGERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - A dispute over loud music led to a shooting in Rogersville.

Officials said the shooting happened just after 10 p.m. on Saturday in the 1000 block of Lauderdale 110 in the Pine Haven Shores subdivision, according to our news partners at the Times Daily.

The victim, Michael Moore Watson, was reportedly upset with his neighbors over their loud music. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a deputy coroner with the Lauderdale County Coroner's Office.

"He confronted them and it's our understanding beat up one bad enough he had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital," said Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton.

Authorities say Watson assaulted Cory Swider, 30. Swider was treated at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital before being released.

Singleton says no arrest have been made at this time. Officials say they expect the case to be presented to an upcoming grand jury after further investigation.
