ARAB, AL (WAFF) - Arab police are investigating a weekend business burglary. It comes on the heels of a recent business robbery just a few days earlier.

This marks the second business hit in the last few days and Arab police are now wondering if there is a connection.

Police responded to the Los Arcos restaurant on Brindlee Mountain Parkway after restaurant owners arrived Monday morning to find the door had been broken and two safes inside were taken.

Police say video surveillance showed it happened around 3:30 a.m. Monday.

Assistant Chief Shane Washburn said the video showed two men inside the restaurant wearing both masks and gloves.

Investigators arrived on scene Monday morning working the scene.

Washburn said investigators are now trying to determine if this burglary is in some way connected to a business robbery at KFC late last week, as there are some similarities.

"They both were wearing masks, gloves. They had black hoodies on. They robbed the store at gunpoint and stole a large amount of cash from that business as well," said Washburn.

If anyone has any information about these crimes, you are asked to contact the Arab Police Department.
