Tennessee teen expected to follow in father's footsteps in MLB draft
(WAFF) - Monday will be a big day for a family in Tennessee.
Ryan Weathers, one of the top high school pitchers in the nation, is expected to be picked in the first round of the Major League Baseball draft, which begins on Monday, according to our news partners at the Times Daily.
Ryan is the son of David Weathers, who had a 19-year career and played for nine different teams and won a World Series Title with the New York Yankees in 1996.
Monday will also be the 30th anniversary of David being drafted.
"Without him, I would not be where I am today," said Ryan, who appreciates the ability to gain experience from his father.
