Marshall County woman gets 20 years in manslaughter plea

MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - A Marshall County woman got 20 years in the strangulation death of her aunt.
Elizabeth Dawn Austin pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter on Monday before a circuit judge.
She and Curtis Lee Austin were charged with murder of Judith McElroy Carranza, whose body was discovered in a shallow grave just over the Etowah County line in April 2015.

Trial for Curtis Austin is set for August.
