HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - No mother should have to cook for herself or worry about where her meal is going to come from on Mother's Day.

That's why Visible Hope, a local charity that feeds those in need, fed homeless mothers on Mother's Day.

People came out by the dozens to get a plate. The menu included grilled chicken, beans, potato salad and cheesecake.

On top of that, every mother got a hygiene kit and flowers.

"Giving up their Mother's Day to come out here in 95 degree weather and serve. They brought clothes, flowers and hygiene, and they were so kind to us. It's just amazing to me." said Vicki, who received a warm plate of food.

Visible Hope, which runs  twice a month, pays for these meals out of their pockets. If you would like to help the organization out with their monthly costs, click here.

The organization also plans to expand internationally this summer when the entire team travels to Kenya, Africa to develop a satellite branch in an one-month trip.
