BOAZ, AL (WAFF) - A Marshall County jury has awarded a woman a $300,000 verdict following a bullying incident at Boaz High School.

The jury awarded Robin Dubose $20,000 in compensatory damages and $80,000 for punitive damage for each of the three defendants.

The jury deliberated around two hours Thursday morning before reaching their decision.

The incident happened in October 2011 and the suit was filed in 2013.

The suit charged Chelsea Peppers, Hope Martin and Dacia Holcomb lured Dubose's daughter into the girls' restroom and assaulted her.

The suit claims the girl was taken to Children's Hospital and treated for a brain hemorrhage.

Default judgments were ordered against Holcomb and Martin after they failed to show in court.
