HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - The officers involved in a fatal shooting on Deramus Avenue last month have been cleared for duty.

Police said on April 3, 49-year-old Jeffery Louis Parker called them, saying he had a gun and was suicidal. Responding officers said he ignored their commands to drop the gun. One officer fired his weapon once, killing Parker.

Three officers were put on administrative leave.

On Monday night, the Huntsville Police Department reported that an incident review board cleared the officers. The board found that "all officers involved performed within Huntsville police policies, procedures and training."

The incident review board included representatives from the Madison County district attorney's office, Huntsville city legal, Huntsville Police Department training staff, and members from the Huntsville Citizen Advisory Council.

All video footage, physical evidence, and officer's testimony was presented.
