HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - The Huntsville Havoc are one win away from their second Southern Professional Hockey League championship.
The red & black scored four goals in the 3rd period Wednesday night in Peoria to cap off one of the most impressive come-from-behind victories in SPHL playoff history.
"Once again, the team dug deep in the third and found a way to battle back," said Havoc Head Coach Glenn Detulleo. "The hardest part is still ahead of us, but we're excited for the challenge on Friday."
Christian Powers led the way with two goals and an assist. Tyler Piancentini added a goal and an assist and veteran defenseman Stuart Steffan added three assists. Goaltender Keegan Asmundson stopped 25 out of 30 shots he faced.
The Havoc now have a chance to clinch their first championship since 2010 Friday night. Tickets for that game went on sale Monday.
WAFF 48 will be at the VBC Friday morning starting at 5:00 a.m. to get you hyped up for the big game!
