Man hit and killed by car in Decatur

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - A man is dead after being hit by a car while crossing the street in Decatur.
46-year-old William Edward Newsom was hit on Friday, April 20 while crossing West Moulton Street.
Police report that Newsom was crossing just west of Pine Avenue when he was hit by a man driving a Honda Civic.
Newsom was pronounced dead the scene.
It's not clear if Newsom was using a crosswalk. An investigation is ongoing.
