2 arrested after domestic violence incident leads deputies to drugs

ATHENS, AL (WAFF) - Two Athens men were arrested Wednesday after a domestic violence call led deputies to a second residence where they found over two pounds of marijuana.

The Limestone County Sheriff's Office charged William Lawrence Lynch, 63 with illegal possession of marijuana. William Kegan Lynch, 35, is charged with domestic violence.

Investigators tell us deputies were dispatched Wednesday to a residence on Holt Springer Road regarding a domestic incident. Upon arrival, they observed visible marks on the victim. William Kegan Lynch left the residence prior to deputies' arrival, however, deputies learned that he was possibly at his father's residence on Gordon Road.

William Lawrence Lynch gave deputies consent to search his residence for his son. When they opened a closet door, they noticed a large amount of marijuana and contacted narcotics investigators. Deputies found William Lynch, Jr. and placed him under arrest. Investigators recovered approximately 2.6 pounds of marijuana from the residence.

William Lawrence Lynch was released from the Limestone County Jail on $5,000 bond and William Kegan Lynch was released on $1,500 bond.
